The Experts Behind Your Investment Success

Our founders didn't come from wealth management — they came from the institutions that define it. Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan, PIMCO, Credit Suisse. They've built firms from zero, scaled products to billions, and navigated the wealth journey on behalf of their own families. That experience is what they bring to every client relationship.

Shang Chou, CQF

Co-Founder & Managing Partner

Shang Chou is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Dishmi Capital, an independent multi-family office anchored by one of Google's first employees. With nearly two decades of experience building companies and products in the asset and wealth management industry, he has a strong track record of advising institutional and ultra-high-net-worth investors.
Prior to founding Dishmi, Shang played a key role in scaling multiple asset management firms from the ground up. He served as Chief Revenue Officer of a London-based active equity manager backed by Index Ventures and Accel. Before that, he was one of the first employees at Simplify Asset Management, where he was instrumental in developing, launching, and marketing over twenty derivatives-based, fixed income, and alternative ETFs — helping scale the firm to over $9B in AUM. He has also served in a strategic advisory capacity to Cache, an asset manager focused on single stock concentration risk.
Earlier in his career, Shang was a Vice President at Goldman Sachs, specializing in portfolio construction, asset allocation, and hedging solutions. He held additional investment management and investment banking roles at J.P. Morgan, PIMCO, and Credit Suisse.
Shang holds a BS from MIT and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management, and has earned the CQF (Certificate in Quantitative Finance) designation. He serves as an Educational Counselor for MIT Admissions, sits on the Advisory Board of the UNLV Lee Business School, and is an adjunct professor in the MS program in Quantitative Finance.

Outside of work, Shang is a former collegiate water polo player who enjoys weightlifting, swimming, golf, and tennis. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife Lillian and their two boys, Bradley and Collin.
